It is our policy is to explore all available LZC options for electricity generation, heat generation, cooling and combined heat and power generation along with combinations of these technologies for our clients.
We are unbiased in our selection of technologies, be it Photovoltaic, wind or hydro for electricity production, biomass, heat pump or solar thermal for heat generation, combined heat and power using either fossil or biomass fuels and abstraction and ground cooling.
We provide affordable yet functional and reliable LZC solutions by selecting the best-suited technology and equipment supplier for each project taking into account the availability of natural resources, aesthetics and access.
Air source heat pumps are best suited to low temperature under floor heating of thermally efficient buildings and can be combined with domestic hot water heating. The main advantage of an air source heat pump over ground source is that it does not require and ground work and they are simple to install.
MGS has experience of designing installing and commissioning heat pumps and combined technology systems in a wide range of new build housing and industrial projects.
About for Air Source:
You can install an air source heat pump in a loft or on the balcony of an apartment.
Air source Heat pumps cool the surrounding air and have been installed in restaurant kitchens reducing the temperature in the kitchen and providing heat to other areas of the building. We have a range of air source heat pumps buffer tanks and control system up to 29 kW. The main components are:
Evaporator - takes the heat from the atmosphere.
Compressor -moves the refrigerant round the heat pump and compresses the gaseous refrigerant to the temperature needed for the heat distribution circuit.
Condenser - gives up heat to a hot water tank, which feeds the distribution system.
Heat distribution system - consists of under floor heating and in some cases water storage for hot water supply. We will normally not provide a heat pump to supply radiators.
Ground source
Ground source heat pumps are best suited to low temperature under floor heating of thermally efficient buildings. The main components are:
Ground loop - comprises lengths of pipe buried in the ground, in a borehole a horizontal trench or laid on the bed of a river, pond lake or canal.
The pipe is usually a closed circuit and is filled with a mixture of water and antifreeze, which is pumped round the pipe absorbing heat from the ground or water.
